"We must look to the children as a vehicle for bringing change to humanity."

— Maria Montessori

I moved to Colorado from Florida about three years ago. I discovered Montessori while working as a dance teacher and visiting various preschools. I could tell right away that the Montessori school was different. I was impressed with the independence and enthusiasm for learning. I then started to learn more about the philosophy from the director and was very inspired. I loved being part of this magical approach to education, where children are excited to learn and are respected for who they are. That’s when I decided to work as an assistant in a Montessori classroom. Here in Colorado, I worked for three years at Saint Vrain Community Montessori. I attended The Montessori Education Center of the Rockies to obtain my AMS credential and become a lead guide for the 3- to 6-year-old group. I also have a bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in dance. I still incorporate many of the dance and movement techniques I used during circle time. When I’m not working, I can be found skiing, climbing, or hiking with my Australian shepherd.
